Stain is and will always be for me the villain that I hate the most in the BNHA anime (even above Touya "PLEASE LOOK AT ME DADDY" Todoroki). The guy is like Incredibles Syndrome, you see that the heroes are not completely perfect and they are people with defects and you go like "AHHHH WE HAVE TO KILL THEM". The guy didn't even last half a semester at UA and his best idea is that instead of inspiring more people by being vigilant or something, what he does is mutilate and murder the heroes who don't meet HIS standards, not fake ones, just the ones who He considers fake. You could be a good person, you could do your fucking job well, but since you get paid and have some flaw and it's enough for Stain to send you to the morgue, what kind of CHILDLISH vision is that? How NARCISSISTIC do you have to be to believe that YOUR vision of a hero is the only and true one and that that gives you enough reason to do those bloodthirsty acts? Imagine being someone who does his job and an assassin comes to tell you how to do it, anyone would be shocked by the complete ridiculousness of Stain... because Stain does not tolerate human defects in heroes, for him, heroes should not have human flaws despite being human. That is why Spinner is pitiful, he is so pathetic that he took refuge in the stupidest ideology I have ever heard in my life, because Stain's ideology, from beginning to end, is nonsense that brings much more harm than good. Crazy, when his dream came true that only the "true" heroes would remain and the false ones would resign, everything went to shit! They put it in your fucking face that their ideology only made everything an anarchy where the villains screw everything up! What more is needed for them to see that Stain's ideology is that of a screaming fanatic who murders because the heroes are not how he wants them to be?

Hxh has more potential with bigger scale. Yyh is completed but hxh is never fully explored. Both are great int heir own genre.

YYH failed due to being rushed as Togashi was not well and HxH successful as it was not afraid to be dark they even had permanent deaths. The other problem of yu yu hakusho is everything based on powers. I think if Togashi was well he would have expanded the demon world and possibly more arcs who knows if his health only let him.

I had forgotten how happy one piece makes me because I only read it in enormous chunks once every 2-3 years.

I agreed with every point you brought up. Im glad I wasnt the only one who thought YYH fell off after the Dark tournament, the constant plot armor Yusuke has and there were no real consequences/deaths and that YYH treated death as if it doesnt truly happen. HxH is the superior show imo.

Watched Dark Tournament arc, and IMO it's the best arc between the two series, but the rest of Hunter Hunter is better than most arcs besides Dark Tournament.

Something often unaddressed is Fugo’s stand symbolism as well. I understand it was designed before his anime backstory, but the feeling of being dirty and having an obsession with feeling clean and the stitched mouth immediately sold his backstory to me and it really drew me into his character. It was heartbreaking in the best way possible. He was just a kid who was scared of himself until the last moments of screen time he got.
